I've lived to witness a friend's passing, another friend's birthday and a girlfriend's joy - a birth and the beginning of a new journey - all on the same day.
Well hello, Amirah Jannah.
Welcome to the world!
And to Shaura Marissa,
Don't you dare leave without saying goodbye!
If you were to ask me 7 years ago what my dreams were, I would have replied: (1) to save as much hard earned money to further my studies (2) pass the driving test and (3) buy a car. I never thought I would settle down in my mid-20s and have a baby. It's just not part of the plan.
7 years on, I'm still stuck at (2) and (3).
Strangely, I'm happier now being driven - at the backseat most of the time to tend to my baby's needs.
Dreams (2) and (3) are still doable, just that they are now part of my birthday wish!
LOL!
Time flew past us too quickly.
It's 6 more months to Shaura's 1st birthday.
Don't grow up too fast, Darla :(

I'm happy with work. Just that I'm unhappy to be away from her :(
If I could bring her to work, I would. O God, please give me strength.
I don't want to miss her first crawl, her first walk, her first word, first everything :(
Shaura Marissawas born last Monday on 21 June 2010 1810hrs, weighing at 2.675kg. She shares the same birthday as 30-year-old Daddy Fazlan and 60-year-old Nenek Salmah. What makes this triple celebration interesting, my mum-in-law was 30 when she was pregnant with Fazlan. 30 years on, it's Fazlan's turn to receive his first bundle of joy. Plus...Shaura was born exactly a day after our first wedding anniversary (akad nikah). Yes, we are that lucky ;)
Picture above taken before delivery. No words can describe how I felt when I first held her in my arms. For sure, I'm so going to miss having you inside my tummy, Shaura! Your kicks and hicks made my day, knowing you're alive and safe inside.
Thank you mums and dads, siblings, sis-in-law, friends and colleagues for paying us a visit.
Thank you Naqiah for this beautiful post. It made me teared...never knew I would have made a difference in someone's life.
Verdict's out. Met my gynae this morning. Baby is going to see the world anytime soon. I'm already 2cm dilated. Am currently in a bloody mess cos The Show has started. Am excited and anxious at the same time.
June's looking really good now with multiple celebrations:
My maternity leave has started (effective 17 June), which is a blessing I must say. I don't know how to describe to you the pain that I'm going through - my stomach feels like a washing machine on full blast, twirling and grinding - it feels like passing motion. It can go on and on for hours and I really do not know what to do other than to hope and pray that everything will be all right.
In a way, this blog has managed to distract me away from the pain. If you notice, I keep on changing the layout from yesterday. No more changes, Zalinah, I would say. But the moment I'm off Photoshop, the pain will start again and my fingers will itch to do more tweaking and add-ons to the header design and blog template.
I don't remember having any cravings during my 1st and 2nd trimesters but come 3rd trimester, there are suddenly so many things that the greedy-me would like to devour like #1 Newton's Chilli Crab (which I've successfully cooked myself), #2 imported mangoes from India (best to get it at Mustafa Centre), #3 Badoque Cafe's Aglio Olio (made a substitute), and the #4 famously fattening Famous Amos cookies below.
It must be a trying period for Fazlan for being the middle person to buy all these stuffs. Being a sweet husband he already is, I can't thank him enough for being there, taking care of my needs and unavoidable wants. He definitely deserves this birthday present that he's been eyeing for the longest time, Adi Pure II TRX FG:
Make me and Baby S proud, Fazlan! I know you can do it.
To those who have no plans this Sunday (20 June), head down to Nanyang Polytechnic stadium for The Dollah Kassim Cup 2010 at 5pm! Support Team Suria! Admission is free!
I have a thing for vintage stuffs - bags, jackets, accessories, you name it. So when I found this vintage owl bag at Raffles City, it reminds me of someone dear.
Guess it's already on its way to meet its rightful owner ;) Bye, bye, owl! Till we meet again!
Z: I'm going to buy you shoes for your birthday. F: There's an old saying - if you buy shoes for your loved ones, they'll run away. Z: Oh, that's because the shoes don't fit. F: What makes you think it'll fit mine? Z: 'Cos it feels right.
It's fun to organise an impromptu birthday party despite our busy schedule. Thanks Netty and Lis for roping me in. Kitaorang semangat ok, siap ada meeting lagi a day before the party. Thanks Wati and Reha for assisting us in the decoration. And Nezar, if you're reading this, I didn't sabo you tau! (It wasn't me!) *winks*
Here are the highlights of the celebration... Of course, more pictures are posted on my Facebook :)
A birthday celebration is not complete without a yummy cake.
Bondage moments.
Milo moments. Sunguh-sungguh the "babies" went deeper to find the 5 items.
Maslina got a hug from Kak Sab.
Love is in the air, perhaps? ;)
I must be in the picture lah kan...asyik snap orang lain je. LOL!
Thank you Raudha for the birthday post! It's been 4 years and counting!
Again, thank you Raudha Ismail (RI), Raudaa Razak (RR), Nezar Marzuki, Netty Fiona and Lukluatus Saniah for being there!
It's a feel-good feeling to be young again in a low-key affair!
The gift is awesome!
Raudaa & Nezar, thank you for the effort to trick me into blowing this small cupcake!
To Hana Nordin, it's difficult for me to say goodbye on my birthday. Hope you have a safe trip back to Brisbane. I know it's hard to be alone...stay strong! Your efforts will definitely pay off!
Lastly, thank you friends for flooding my Facebook wall and Twitter with your well wishes. It's the thought that counts.
